Hi guys,
I have a fighting fish called Stormy, ive had him for nearly 2 years.
He lives in a 10 gallon tank, with a huge castle, and a plant and a water heater. About a month ago, he stopped eating, and was acting sick (not talking to me) I also noticed his belly was a tad swollen, so i fasted him for a few days and then tried to feed him peas, which he totally rejected.
It was obvious he was having troubles swimming too, he struggled alot.
So i cut down his food ALOT and maybe a week later, he picked up, he wanted to eat again, and his swimming improved. but he was sitting on the bottom of the tank alot (not lying down, like actually sitting, like a mermaid lol )
he still hadnt done a poo after all of this, so i then decided to order some epsom salts on line. a week passed, the epsom salts arrived, i gave them to stormy... i left them in overnight then did a 50% water change. still no poo.
I currently feed tiny slithers of frozen prawn which he goes nuts after.. but i cant work out why he wont poo and why he sits like a mermaid... he is happy and loves to be fed... (you know how they act like a dog) well he is still like that, but he will return to the bottom and sit , he sits on his castle the same way too. but just not swimming like normal, he only goes up for air, or if he thinks im going to feed him (all the time he thinks lol}
so.. should i be worried? im not sure what else to do?
i change his water twice a week.
