does maracyn or aquarium salt cloud water

i bought both these items for my 10 gallon tank and i just did a water change last night and today the water looks even cloudier then before the water change.....i am using the proper amount and the directions/package of the maracyn doesnt state anything of cloudy water (pretty sure). is this typical of maracyn or aquarium salt??

Are you using Maracyn I or II? My water turned very cloudy, but I was using both I and II at the same time. The package insert says that Maracyn II will turn water cloudy, but does not say anything about cloudy water for Maracyn I.

At the proper dosage, AQ salt should not turn water cloudy.

I haven't had either cloud my tank, but it could be a bacterial bloom resulting from Maracyn killing some of the bacteria strains. (It says it doesn't affect the nitrosomonas and the other variety, the kinds that help the cycle, but I'm sure it kills others)

just the regular maracyn. but after reading the instructions im thinking of ditching maracyn for maracyn plus, it seems to be a stronger antibiotic

im think my betta has got either an true fungus infection or body fungus :(

If you've already started the Maracyn treatment, it's really important that you treat for the entire 5 days. Just like with humans, if you cut an antibiotic treatment short, you run the risk of creating a resistant bacteria that will harder to kill. On the chance that it is bacterial, I would make sure to complete the treatment before trying something else. And give him a couple days break in between the two treatments if you can.

The AQ salt should help if it is a fungus.

My maracyn plus seems to cloud the water. Salt doesn't though, and I've never used maracyn 1-2 to be able to know for sure on them
