What it could also be is the stress of you taking him out of this tank during water changes. Even when doing 50% water changes in a 5 gallon tank, just leave him it. It's easier on him.

I use dechlorinator. I have a few artificial plants and a small cave like structure inside the tank. I keep the heater settings at around 26 degree Celcius. The tank also has a pump and the filter. I feed him frozen blood worms twice a day. From last 2 days he is always floating at the corner of the tank and not eating anything. today I found him struggling to reach the top of the tank. He isnt eating too. I am very worried about him. I think he is also losing his color.
I dont know where I am going wrong. Kindly help me. I am very worried about him. And PLEASE suggest me what should I do now. Thanks a lot!

I originally got the faux resin wood decoration, but I took that one out.

I don't want this to happen again, but I want to get him something he can swim through. he was really starting to like the decoration...until it almost killed him! :[ Any one have any recommendations for SAFE decor? Checked on him this morning, and he's back to his happy self! :]
Oh god...

Axel had a few decorations from the same set in his tank... he died today.

Callistra, could it be the ornaments were slowly poisoning him over the months (I think I got those 6 months ago to add more hiding places for him) and only over the last few days the symptoms manifested?

I'd gotten mine from Petsmart so I didn't think they fell into that category...

Sounds fungal. Maybe columnaris?

Does it look like this?

Mind you, these images are of extreme cases.

Hadoken, I'm not too sure but the prime and the new ornament were the only two new things I added. I highly doubt the prime is what did it. My fiancÚ said I should put it back in and see if it really was the ornament, but I'm not taking that chance again...

Me too. Luckily, they're not my fish. I got the images from Google.
