Betta Pet Peeves

There is always something when I am looking for a betta that must be a certain way. And that is their eyes. It is my pet peeve when bettas have those all black eyes. Whenever I talk to someone, I always look into their eyes so, I guess that could be it. Then I don't know where their looking, and so yeah... I honestly don't know why it bothers me, lol. What are your betta "pet peeves"?

P.S. Please DO NOT take this the wrong way. I'm sure all of your black eye bettas are wonderful with great personalities and are gorgeous. I'm not saying they are not. It's just the same way some people don't like halfmoons, that's all.

I'm all about the personality.
When purchasing a new betta, I look first for pretty. Then, I pick the one with the most personality. I pick the hyperactive ones. Not the unresponsive ones.

I hate skinny long bodies, I cant stand them in any Betta

Merlin has copper-colored eyes. I've never seen that before in a fish.


Anywho, My fishy pet peeve is:

Well, I'm not exactly sure if it's a pet peeve, as I'll pretty much buy any Betta.

I tend to buy the sickest, most pitiful fish I find.

I had to make a rule for myself so I don't get overloaded:

I can't buy another Betta unless all of my current fishies are healthy and situated habitat-wise. That way, (unless one of my healthy Bettas gets sick while another is healing) I'll only have one sick fish at a time.

I not a fan of the double tails or short bodied bettas. They make my back hurt just looking at them.

I really dislike all black eyes too!! Most of mine have blue eyes right now
I also dont really like skinny boys (dont mind so much with girls) I like them to have thick but long bodies

I'm not really a fan of crowntails. Their fins just seem very messy to me.

The topline of most Doubletails just looks weird to me.

Which doesn't mean I wouldn't get one in a heartbeat if I found the *right* one!
