Quick question!

So my male Crowntail made a pretty big bubble nest while my female was in the vase in the tank. She had vertical stripes so I put her in last night. The were acting normal for a while so I went to bed figuring I would find eggs in the morning. Well I woke up to the male building another bubble nest in the opposite side of the tank with the female just swimming around like normal. Is this a normal thing? Is their something I can do to help them along at this point or is it just a waiting game? Thanks in advance!

Moving nests is common. You can determine where he nests by floating something in that place or by covering the top of that area.

First time breeders (specially females) need a longer courtship before she embraces (some may take a week). Veterans usually lays eggs with in 24 hours.

Yep... my latest go around - both virgins took them a week before they embraced. The other pair only a few hours (male was a virgin, female experienced). I've also heard others say it's taken a couple weeks to get a virgin pair to spawn.

So timing varies. Also how conditioned they are and ready the female is will also play a role in it. The more ready she is (huge with eggs prior to releasing her) the quicker it may be.

Patience is the key to breeding :)
