How do I care for a baby betta?

So I went to Petco today to get a halfmoon for the extra 3 gal tank i have. I ended up with a baby betta.
Currently, I am floating his cup in my 3 gal with the water at 77. shld I raise it to 80?
the tank as a azoo filter set at low with a sponge on the intake valve. Would this filter be too much current for the baby?
I also have breeding trap. should i put him in there and the trap in the 3 gal to help w the current?
I plan to do 17% water change everyday. should I do more?
What should I feed him? I have nls betta pellets. The person at petco said I should crush them up and give him that. Is that ok or shld he be eating something else? I feed my other betta 3 times a day. Should I feed the baby more often than that? How much shld I b feeding him?
