Now that he's grown some more...

What kind of finnage is Skerries? I know I've asked before, but was told that he needed some more growing to really know. He was purchased as a baby (about 4-5 wks old) on the 18th of last Dec.

Also, as far as color, he's turquoise, right?

He looks to me like a beautifully finned veil tail, like the kind that used to be shown in the IBC when they first started up! I could be wrong, but I'm looking at teh droop which is very characteristic of a VT. His tail just appears to be fuller and more showy than the usual petstore VT.

I was thinking veil, but the roundness of the fin's edge is what threw me off... Guess I'm just so used to the badly-finned walmart fish.

Thanks for the help

No problem, grats on the gorgeous VT. I haven't seen many like that that weren't in "historical" photos (like on BettySplendens, etc) so you must be very lucky :)

Thanks, and to think, I found him as a baby at Petco!!

I was hoping to get a decent breeding pair from the two babies I bought from them, and I got him, and the sick baby that I rescued and rehabbed turned out to be beautiful and color coordinated as well (she's royal blue with some turquoise)

He's beautiful! Almost like my Copernicus...mine just has more of a black head. :] I'm thinking mine is also a veil, but ours will be much prettier than the pet stores!

I think because Sker's a turquoise, he has a lighter head, almost a light chocolate. If Copernicus is the guy in your display pic, he looks more blue.

Both of my blue-ish ladies have black heads.

And yes, much, much prettier! <3
