please help!

Hey I'm Monique this is my first time being on the forum for my betta Bubba. I don't know what action to take, I noticed tears in his fins and looked up pictures of fin rot. His fins don't exactly resemble it but I got bettafix to help his regrowth. He doesn't seem to be getting any better. What actions should I take next?

P.s I have a picture of him in my albums I cannot upload a pic onto this post

I'm no expert but it looks like ur temp isn't stable which is no good.
And I've also been told that bettafix is dangerous to the fish as it damaged its labyrinth organ so I would probably stop that and do a water change

First, do you use plastic plants? If so, take them out for his treatment. They may (or may not - this is just in case) be the cause. Or he could have bitten his fins. Either way, you're going to treat it.

Before treating, look at his fins. Do they look singed? Like someone set them on fire and then put them out? They should be tipped with black or gray. There may even be a black or gray line all the way down his tail. If he does not have this, then it is not fin rot.

Bettafix is a deluted version of Melafix. While bettafix can cause problems, some people have had success. While others have not. Yet another group of people say it does nothing.
Melafix, however, unanimously seems to cause problems everywhere for bettas (which is why bettafix was invented).

You might want to try and buy a heater if you can, that range is not good. They need at least 77.

I do have plastic plants blocking the bottom of the filter so he won't go by it like he was before.. however the tears got worse and the more I'm reading it seems to be he is bitting them. There are no black spots or marks on his tails. What should I use for the filter instead of the plants?

I have a sponge at the top already which is working for him but thank you for the link! Do you have suggestions for the bottom part where it sucks in the water?
