I was excited a couple of weeks ago to find a hornwort, which I placed in my 36G sorority/community tank. It was about 8 inches tall. In the two weeks since I placed it, it's already reached the top of the water and is spreading there.
A) Does that sound about right for a hornwort? I certainly do not MIND it being up at the top, the girls have happily adopted it.
B) At some point if it keeps that growth up, well...does it need to be trimmed? And what's the best way of doing that if so? Can trimmings be rooted and replanted?
None of my other plants have experienced such...enthusiastic...growth, so this is a new live water plant problem for me!
