what's with my narcissistic betta?

Rasta, my delta tail beauty, spends hours staring down his image on the sides of the tank, flaring and chasing himself. am i over-reacting or is my reggae boy becoming neurotic?

He probably thinks his reflection is another fish and is trying to scare it away from his tank.

My delta does this too which is why I named him Narcissus.

If you have a tank light and are worried that he might stress himself into sickness, just keep the tank light off and let him have natural or room light.

I occasionally turn my boy's tank light on once a day for a few minutes to give him a little exercise and to help him poop since flaring will induce pooping.
