What's wrong with this Betta?

He's been at PetSmart since November. I remember when he first showed up, he was a beautiful green color and I saw him 3 days later when I went back in for some Stress Coat I forgot and he had a redish colored patch on his side. A week later it grew to a saddle and then I didn't go back in for quite awhile..

I went in tonight and he's still there! It's gotten to where it's all the way around his midsection. He doesn't act like he's in pain and he's not fuzzy or peely or acting sick or anything like that.

I didn't buy him, but i'm thinking about it.. but i really don't know. I know he's still there because he looks like there's something wrong with him and most people, of course, don't want to buy a sick fish.

Could he be a marble?

I thought about that. There's a possibility he could be changing to a brownish red color, since the doesn't look like he's raw or anything like alot of ammonia burnt fish do.

He does look very odd, but it would be fun to get him and see what colors he develops! I would probably pick him up just because he's been there so long. One of mine sat on the shelf at Petco for almost two months. I got him just because I hated seeing him stuck in that cup and he's doing great.

I've done that before, Melodica! It was actually with another Plakat from this store, I ended up getting him for free because he was missing an eye and was blind in the other.

I feel bad for this guy and might go back in within the next couple days and see if he's still -still- there. I would love to have another Plakat.
