breeding color

how would i get a tradional plakat to get the white body through breeding? would i have to use a cambodian? or any white betta ?

What type of white do you want? the best way would be to get the type of white you are after, breed it to the trad then do sibling crosses or breed back to the white parent.

i havent decided what type of white yet i just wanted to know , would it take a couple generations ?

Yep depending on the type of white eg..
If its cello white then you may get lucky in first gen since its marble related but its an unstable gene.
If its cambodian then thats recessive so either 2 generations or if the trad is carrying it then just one gen.
If platinum white then youd need more than 2 gens to clean up the white and get nice scales etc...

Milk white involves a number of genes in a certain combination. Cambodian (the ones with irid, not those clean red cambodian) x royal blue/steel blue should get you started. But it will be many generations before you actually produce milk white. To convert milk white into metallic white, simply cross it to a metallic/copper. Then inbreed the platinums.

If I were you, I'd start with the type of desired white . . . . easier and faster = cheaper in the long run :)
