Diva is one way of putting it. Currently they seem to be playing hide and seek. He sees her and darts at her, she takes off as fast as possible to the next plant and hides again and then they start over. These two definitely have more personality then most, with his explosive character I named him for and well forget a pecking order we all know who's queen of this castle XD

Lights out. Hopefully every one is healthy and happy in the morning. I suppose worse case scenario is they spawn over night in which case Venus will just have to hang in there until the morning.

Hi mellcrowl, what is probably going on right now is that they are not very aggressive toward each other if they don't spawn soon then you will have to take her out and place her away for a while ( maybe 2 days) and then bring her close by and let them see each other again. They should be showing more aggression toward each other now. Make sure they are well fed and a well fattened up and settled. Don't worry because i have had fish do the same and spawned right after doing this. I get this problem especially when trying to spawn my whites.

Well she is white... I think I'll do that. He still isn't making much a nest so hopefully taking her away will get his priorities straight.

Recondition and reintroduce and see how it goes from there, somtimes fishes that are darker are attracted to only darker coloured fishes this could be the case but once the female gets persistent he should spawn her. When she gets persistent she will actually show alot of aggression and that's a good sign if he shows aggression back that's great because he has to eventually beat her into submission. If he however doesn't and he runs away then this spawn is less likely to happen. But try them, i've had pairs i gave up on and they eventually spawned after trying and trying.

I was worried about the whole beating into submission part as she is is very bold and definitely the boss in the aquarium
