Okay so I have a girl in my sorority tank who is like show quality nice finnage and I will be breeding her a to a sibling male but I am very confused because first of all I noticed she was now on top in the chain but I noticed my one girl had bites out of her where as they never did before I moved in the two new hm's then I saw her my marble girl in the corner under a.... BUBBLE NEST!!!!!! I can see her sitting under it and building it :o I know she is not a he because she has an egg spot. Please help I am very confused :D

Well Im not there but I think you may have a boy. In this batch some have been unreal difficult to sex. It may be a girl still but imo you would be best to separate the girl/boy from the others if you can.

Could you get side view pictures of her?
I agree you should move her to solitary for now because she may be a he, regardless of egg spot. Females may be as aggressive as males but I have never seen any females build a big nest.

I've only seen tiny nests from my girls.. and as mentioned, young boys will sometimes have an egg spot to fool other bettas. Woops! lol

Its the 2nd time in 2 weeks this happened! I am embarrassed. The fry are almost 3 months old and only now are some of the fry clearly male or female. Others fry in the spawn are easy but there has been about 30-40% that are really hard. Plus my eyesight not so good anymore. sighs.
