new fish today!

Like I said in the walmart thread I was there today and this poor guy looked so miserable. Wasn't near the other fish on the shelf, barely any water, not really moving, but I don't think he could with the little water. I couldn't leave him there so he came home with me!

I don't know how healthy he is, but he's swimming around and exploring now. He hasn't flared yet.

I was hoping someone could tell me if he's definitely a he, if he looks ok or what I might need to do for him, and what type of betta he is. I believe it said veil tail.

Very pretty. I think once He settles in, he will gain lots of color. :)

Give him time before trying to get him to flare because it can stress him out.

thanks for answering me. he's slowed down a bit and I'm nervous that he's not ok. basically because of where he came from and how he was kept. I'm just anxious I guess. hoping more people will have insight too.

we posted at the same time! I just asked about color as you answered lol.

I didn't try to make him flare because I was worried about stress. I figured I'd give him some time to swim and stuff first. When I first got Angus he was flaring at everything lol.

Most Bettas do not do to well the first night. My newest boy was doing horrible the first day, and the next he was all good. Just wait to see how he does, I believe he will have a more yellow coloring.

He's a "pineapple" betta!! My mom has one EXACTLY like him XD He looks pretty yellow to me, I think he seems healthy, I'd just be on the look out to make sure his tail unclamps in the next few days.

I've never heard of a pineapple betta. What should I do about his tail if it doesn't? Is there anything that can be done? I've been lucky that I haven't had any problems with Angus, but it leaves me inexperienced for the new guy...which I have to name still!

He will unclamp if you keep him in clean, warm water.
