Betta (light bulb bleeding) help!

Hi my light bulb got wedged in between the filter and the glass when I saw him struggling I moved the filter but now I notice a big red blood spot on his head. Any advice please!!! Fish means too much for my little girls and they are now panicking..

Don't worry, it looks like a bit of skin got scraped off and he should be ok. Try getting some API MELA FIX (petsmart sells it). That stuff is a miracle! It heals cuts and scrapes so fast, it is just amazing. It is a little pricy however (at 11-14$ a bottle) but totally worth it. Hope he gets better!! :)

The Melafix has tea tree oil in which is harmful to the organ that Bettas use to breath the air. I would find something else and anything with fix at the end is not good. Stress coat would be good to use and extra clean water so he heals up safely and quickly.

Waters pretty clean he is in a planted aquirium 8 gallons all by him self. Should I just let him heal naturally?

Yes I think letting him naturally would be okay but I am sure others might have some different ideas as to whether you need to add anything to his water to help him heal safely. The only thing I would add is some Stress Coat and keep a close eye on the wound area.

It should heal on its own, but it will be imperative to keep perfectly clean water, or it could become infected

I would do something with the filter to make sure he can't do that again..

Stress coat at 1 ml per 1 gallon and vitachem at 2 drops per gallon will help speed up recovery.

Make sure it's Stress Coat+ not just normal Stress Coat.

My female scraped the side of her head on a decoration and it looked just like yours does at first, it healed quite quickly with StressCoat+. And like callistra said, you should probably figure out a way to make sure eh won't get stuck again.

Don't worry about the wound itself, worry about a infection. Keep his water pristine and dose aquarium salt at the first sight of a infection but not before that. And yea, make sure it can't happen again.
