I have a similar thing going on with my boy. Not sure what it is. I got the best pic I could of it. Does it look the same as my boy's?

your boy's is whiter but that could be because of his coloring. the edges on mine are smooth and its more grey than white... but they do share striking resemblance. when did yours appear?

It happened today. Not really sure why. Sort of worries me. He has a bit of white on his face already, but this is new.

me too. i am very paranoid about my boy and girl. at least with my human children they can tell me when they are hurt or sick. with the fish they can't tell me anything and i am terrified of them becoming ill!

Jexx yours looks like he hit his head on something. Keep his water clean to make sure it doesn't get worse & I think he'll be fine.

Hadoken, yours looks like he may have something fungal going on. Have treated it all? How long has he had it & has it gotten worse?

Perry has had it before but it was just a silver marking and it went away. Does it look fuzzy?

I agree with PP, Jexx, it looks like an injury. Often times when they bump or scrape against something, they will lose a scale or two and it will look white where it fell off. They grow back after a few days.
My female has that happen quite often on her head because she's a jumper and will jump for anything that looks like it might resemble food and she usually ends up bumping her head on the lid or on the side of the food opening when she jumps when I take too long to feed her.
