After Ferdinand died last weekend, I realized how empty my place seemed without him, so I picked up a new Betta today. He's currently in the hospital tank so I can make sure he's healthy before I put him in his new home.
It's not a great picture, but it will be a good baseline. :)
Ferdinand was a handsome, blue fellow. He followed me around a lot.
Sir Reginald is larger then Ferdinand was. He watched me walk around while I checked out all of the bettas at the pet store, and he flared at me when I got him. I think he'll get a longer name as I get to know him better. Sir Reginald von something. :)
Actually, she didn't at first ( I made some crazy huge mistakes). I am glad you are trying to be a better fish mom:) I think everybody could always use improvements:) Even myslef lol. I am getting a twenty gallon set up soon, it's going to be an npt with six corycats, some siamese algae eaters, some cherry shrimp, maybe a few neon tetras, and a betta in it
One of the biggest changes I want to make is to get a bigger tank. I only have a 1.5 gallon tank right now, plus a small critter carrier that gets used as a short term hospital tank. My parents have a great 20 gallon tank that is not being used, but I don't have the space for it. I'm currently watching pet store deals and craigslist for a five gallon.
NPT is natural planted tank? I'm lurking and learning a lot, but there's always more to learn.
