Betta won't eat?

I've tried TettaBetta brand pellets. I'm probably getting a different kind because the main ingredients aren't proteins, and that's what everyone recommends (since bettas are carnivores). I've only had him for two days now.

yeah i tried food when he was doing that and he would see the pellet and swim past it. i tried blood worms too and he ate one but he can't live off of those...

I just bought a better brand of pellet (Omega One, since that's what everyone seems to suggest) and a betta hammock for his feeding spot. I'll let you know if that helps any~

Well, he took a bite of it then spit it out. But that's progress from ignoring pellets all-together.

He's pretty, but he looks stressed. Notice the darker horizontal line in the middle. That's a stress line. Perhaps having the other fish in there is stressful for him. Also, my female HATED pellets until I finally found one she likes. She simply refused to eat anything but flakes. It took me a while, and quite a few bottles of pellets until I found one she'll eat. My male only likes pellets, and won't even eat bloodworms unless I've just cleaned his tank.

He is a beauty. He will be fine, hopefully. Most betas that come from PetCo/Smart normally aren't fed for weeks at a time instead of daily. Let him get used to his surroundings and keep his water at 78•f. My friend and I do this for bettas who refuse to eat: mash up the food and put it in the water. After it desolves and he takes in some of the water through his gills, the food and nutrients goes through the fishes system. Try that.

He ate all of his food this evening with no spitting up :)

And I just did research on it. I thought it was plastic all the way through (sure looked it). But there's metal in it :/ Apparently you can get the metal out though. So I'm going to do that. Paris already really loves the hammock, but I don't want rust in my tank x_x
