I never see him poo, but I will watch him to see. His breathing started laboring last night and still is this morning.

It might be parasites of another order. please look up gill flukes and see if his symptoms may match...

His gills are not sticking out or red, he is just breathing heavily. And it also looks like he is losing scales. They ar not sticking out like pinecone, but it looks like in one place he has some scales coming off.

seems like a comprimised immune system :/
if you have IAL, give him some tannins...
if not, I would look at a broad spectrum medication...
if he starts to show signs of bloat of dropsy, make sure you have some epsom salt and antibiotics on hand...(furan-2, kanaplex... etc)

I have been checking on him, and I just did, he has passed...the place where he lost his scales started turning grey. Should I bleach the tank because of his sickness???

His body is, which I where the grey was. I wasn't to sure if it was the mystery disease...I'm taking him back to the store tomorrow...
