Man I really hope it's not the filter now. He's been in that 10 gallon since the day I got him, and I would feel TERRIBLE moving him into a smaller tank. :( Obviously if that's the only thing that will help I will do it, but I would feel so awful. He doesn't seem affected by it at all in his behavior, so if it's purely something physical and not hurting him I don't mind what his fins look like. But if it is rot, it's probably not good for him. :/

Do you have an HOB? You can just cover the intake tube with one of these: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...efilter+sponge
