Snail for my male?

I've been looking around for a snail tankmate for my male betta, who's in a 5g by himself.

Do you guys have any experiences with snails and preferences of species?

My betta attacked a mystery snail, but he has no problem with nerite snails. Mystery snails come out of their shells kind of far so they're more obvious and attract a betta's curiosity/territorialism more than nerites who hardly stick out from their shells at all and just look like gliding rocks from a fish's point-of-view.
Plus nerites are good cleaners if you have any algae, and they usually have pretty patterns on their shells, like stripes or spots.

Fred ate the two antenae when Yo was younger. The antennae grew back and Yo is almost 2" big, grown from 1" in mid-January.

I've head great success with Nerite snails and Bettas. Nerite snaills stay smaller than Mystery Snails and IME, eat much more algae!

lol Otterfun- that's exactly what Fishie looked like right before he attacked my mystery snail- twice.

I ended up getting a mystery snail! Cato hasn't noticed him yet and they've been in the tank together for 24 hours. If he has noticed him, then I guess he doesn't care haha.

A fine choice so far!
