Question What is this? DROPSY? PREGNANT FISH? D:

I'm getting a little scared now... I just bought a new fish at a pet store Yet when I put her into her new home, I saw this little bump underneath the stomach or something. She has been acting strange, the next day she was all swimming and darting so fast here and there! What is happening to my fish?

Not dropsy, and not pregnant (not possible with bettas who lay eggs). Could be parasites based on her behavior. Please fill out the below information so others can best help you.

Maintenance

I'm far from an expert and without knowing a bunch of details my main guess is she needs a fast. That she's maybe just bloated.

It looks like you created two identical threads... this one, and one here.

I've replied on the other thread....

She just looks bloated. Fast her for a day and watch for her to poop. She should be fine, though. I actually have one that looks a LOT like her!!!

Girls seem to get that round bellied look much more easily than a male. I love my little fishy piggies.

Congrats on the new fishy! I'm not sure if all females are like this, but my girls always look bloated after a meal.

Is it a small bump on her belly or is it her whole belly kind of bump?
