Can females make bubble nests...? 'Cause mine did.

Last time I checked, they couldn't. I KNOW my girl is a girl. She's tiny, her fins are short, and she has an egg spot. But she made a bubble nest, I think? Next to her filter, there's a bunch of bubbles! And some around the edges of the tank. I'm glad to know that the filter current doesn't disrupt the bubble nest, so when I get my male the same tank, he can make a bubble nest and not have the filter break it, but I'm a little confused. Why and how did she make a bubble nest? Here's a picture.

To say that a girl can't make a bubble nest doesn't really make sense to me. All bubble nests are, are air blown with saliva. With that being said, females are very capable of making a bubble nest. Most don't, but one of my girls did for a while. She didn't make as nearly of a large one as my males have, but she did make one. Hope that helps. (:

Yes, females are perfectly capable of bubble nests. Nothing to worry about. ;)
