what fish ?

hey,
so my fish just died and i really would like to get an other one but don't know if i should get a girl or boy betta ? i would like it to last alot longer than my girl ( she only lasted 4 months) well if you guys have any idea one what kind that would be great thanks !

What size tank do you have?

thats not very long for a female betta to live and die naturally

as asked, what size of tank do you have?
do you have a heater?
what were the water parameters? (if you recored them at the time)
did you have plants or hiding spot for your betta?

if you want a long lasting betta the requirement must be met to make a happy, healthy betta :D
