New additions!!! escher and cousteau

So my boyfriend and I have officially become betta fish fanatics. We happened into a petstore in my hometown in Tennessee this afternoon that had crowntails! Well, ever since seeing crowntails online I have wanted one.

We felt so bad for these bettas!! They were in containers smaller than the ones at wal-mart!! And they had the two most beautiful crowntails. So we liberated both of them. They've been named escher and cousteau. We're going to divide a five gallon tank for them soon, but right now they're in temporary holding tanks until we get paid. We're going to add plants to the tanks before then but here they are in their splendor

WOW! They are georgeous I wish I could get some. I tried at my petstore and NO BODY has them and we have 5 petstores in our little town.

As long as your buying them because they're pretty and not because you wanted to rescue them (did I just say that?) :) Rescuing them only gives the store what they want and just eggs them on...and we don't want to encourage that behavior

haha well they are gorgeous...but we were rescuing them and the lady tried to sale us a betta condo and we were like uh no they need more room and heat...

We actually upgraded them to a 10g with a divider. It was cheaper and is gonna work out well. We haven't been able to get anything other than gravel and a few plants for it at the moment but we're gonna get some hidey holes soon.
