Please Critique My Male

I can't figure out how (without spending an hour) to put a photo in a message, but my avatar pic is my newest male, and his pic (both sides) are on my page.
I plan to breed him to an intense gold HM female. Full disclosure: it's not my pic but the breeder's. I am happy to say that, in the month+ that I've owned him, his color has intensified. His fins are a rich gold w/ the blue mist & his body is a stronger yellow.
I'm sure if I breed him I will get some washed-out yellows, but what do you think of his form?
(IMO, I love the light yellows. People buy white bettas (including me); what's wrong w/ pale yellow??)

Ok top line, and good fins except for a long anal fin. Color is really in the eye of the beholder.

If I turn him loose w/ his potential mate, those fins will match up perfectly- all torn to ribbons :0( she's a fiesty one!

Yes, the ideal is essentially that the fins all match evenly in a line with none sticking out. I don't know the precise ibc standards but that is the idea. A short anal female would be best.

Can this fin symmetry be seen in fry? How early?

Top line is scooped a lot - make sure the female has an even topline.. anal fin is long, so make sure the female's is tight/short/appropriately.

Otherwise, he is a very lovely fish and is breed worthy with the right girl!

Is the scoop right before his tail?
I'm a member of the IBC, but I don't know where you find standards.

It's just a bit uneven. It goes from mild spoonhead to a bit of a high back to the swoop in the pendunctle.

The head.. look at your guy's dorsal to mouth - and then the boy in my avatary, his head is faced away some but you can get the general idea that it should be just slightly curved down. Yours isn't spoon shaped, so that's good.. can easily be worked out.. and if you aren't planning on showing the fish then it doesn't make that big of a difference :)
