Yeah same here, I did not have to buy anything.... I used a plastic water bottle, For me, It works amazingly for my VERY strong filter, Check out http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=30139

That is how I did mine did not cost me a cent! :)

Or you could try red solo cups. Cut them like they instruct in the link. They are wider and might cover more area. I used the little blue plastic cups for mine and it works great.
