Can Bright Lights Bother a Betta?

Hello all! I'm still relatively new at owning bettas, so I like to check up with things on the forum. I'm in college and have my betta, Pontus Rex, living on my desk. For about an hour or two a day, I usually have my desk light on to work on translations and other homework. Can this light bother him? It is fairly bright and next to his tank, but not shining directly on him. I just want to make sure it's not harming his eye sight or stressing him out. His behavior hasn't changed. He acts perfectly normal; I'm just a bit of a worrywart

As long as it isn't causing any fluctuations in his temperature and he isn't freaking out when you turn it on, I'd say it is absolutely fine. :)
