Petsmart discontinued the AquaClear 20!?

SO I went to Petsmart today to buy the AquaClear20 inserts to enhance the Azoo Mignon 60 I got for my Mom's 3gal, and when I got there all they had was FLUVAL aqua clear stuff.

Apparently Fluval bought the filters or something... I asked the guy working there if they had any AquaClear 20 media and he said no they DISCONTINUED THAT FILTER. All they had was AquaClear 30+

Yep, Aquaclear products are now Fluval. I bought some sponges not long ago & they're the same thing.

To the best of my knowledge, Fluval still makes the AquaClear 20 but Petsmart just isn't carrying it. I bought one from Petco a just couple weeks ago.

Dosen't HAGEN make both products? My understanding is they just changed the name from aquaclear to fluvial. Everything is the same - just a name change.

weather or not petsmart still carries it, I cant say. The nearest petsmart is 40 minutes away. Try Ebay or amazon.com

chances are they will use the fancy "fluval" to raise their prices :/

My petsmart has the "fluval" aquaclear 20's. I pass by them every time I walk down that aisle looking to see if they lowered the aquaclear 50 insert prices.
I haven't noticed an increase since they changed the name though.

And to answer someone else's question, Hagen does make both. They also make Elite, and a few other brands. Kind of like GM makes GMC, Chevy, Cadillacs, and Pontiac.
