if the same size, 50W in case you want to get a 10g later, trust me, you will at least think about getting a 10g over time....

The hawkeye is a decent little tank. I had it before but upgraded to a 10 gallon. The filter is one of those little cheapy ones. The hood is decent. I just didnt like the acrylic.

LOL already tried a 10G and hubby said no as this is going on our counter top.

@Fishybitty - That was one huge reason for thinking about going with the TopFin since it is glass.

I use the Hydor 50watt in my 5 gallon. I have to keep it on the lowest possible setting, and it keeps the tank at a constant 79. Any higher, and it goes into the 80s. The benefit is that it's barely ever on, because it only needs to come on for short bursts. The 50watt and the 25watt are exactly the same physical size.

Thanks tekkguy. Got the 50W Hydro in my cart, silk plants (along with some live ones I will be buying), Thermostat, and gravel. Now to decide on what tank.....:)
