Conditioner overkill? :'D

So I want to introduce Niklaus to my tank as painlessly as possible (probably) tomorrow. I wanted opinions.

I have trace amounts of ammonia in my tap water; so I went out and bought some Prime today. But then I remembered that I have Stress Coat+ that I was going to use for him to be introduced to the tank.

Would it be overkill to use both? Which would be better?

Ammonia sits at .25 ppm. I do daily partial water changes of 20% every other day, 50-60% if it gets to .50 ppm. (Left the snails unwatched for about a week or two. )

I'd love opinions! I want Klaus to be introduced the best and least stressful way possible. (I plan on drip acclimation over a 1.5-2 hour period of time.)

It would be best to use Prime, but it will still be okay to use both. You'll need at least 10x the amount of needed conditioner to have any odd effects. I suggest treating the tank with Prime as much as needed and only using Stress Coat to treat the tank only 10%. I presume no filter?

Oh shoot. Probably should've given some specs. Haha. 5 gallon, filtered, heated.
:D

Wait, did you treat the tank with conditioner at all, yet? :0

I would use Prime and both will be...acceptable but not really the best. What gallon tank is that?

I did use conditioner. But those were the days before the expected shipments of Niklaus. (He was supposed to ship on the 14th, and then again on the 21st. He finally shipped on the 28th. lol.)

So I did with full intentions of having him in the tank the next day or the day after I conditioned.

I said it wrong. I'm sorry. It won't have any major effects.

Oh, okay then. Then just add in some Prime in the main tank, you can add in the Stress Coat once you start changing the water in a week. You won't need the Stress Coat as much as Prime. Bettas are pretty hardy unlike a few other fish so acclimating won't be much of a tussle; especially if you're drip acclimating.
