Sweet! Thank you so much for your opinions guys.

I'm a bit neurotic about making sure I have all the right things of him. Hahaha. All of my silk plants are metal free, so is the betta hammock, I just walked 6 miles to get an adequate heater, he has a hide and some Malaysian driftwood. Plus about 5 different types of food, a hospital and etc.. I kept adding more to my items as I learned more about proper betta keeping. He will probably be overloved.

You seem to have researched well! Your new betta will certainly be overjoyed. ^.^ Have you heard of cycling? It's crucial to your betta's health.

I've been doing my best to start a cycle! I unfortunately didn't buy Quick Start of Ammonia. I do throw a couple Hikari Micro Pellets in there from occasion and I have about 5 baby snails in there right now that seem to be adding /some/ effect to my bioload. Haha.

Unfortunately I didn't know that my RCS's couldn't withstand the shock of an uncycled tank. ^^;;;;

I don't do 100% changes, a max of 60%. I'm doing my best to start a cycle. But it's my first tank and I'm pretty much a noob. Hahaha.

Shrimp are really fragile inverts, but they hardly produce any ammonia.
I think the ammonia your tap will be enough for your soon fish-in. The Prime converts it into ammonium within 24-48 hours and the filter can still find it a source of ammonia. Do you know your pH? And once your betta is here, when do you plan to do changes? Sorry for all the questions, but spikes can happen. ^^"

Oh no!~ I'm glad to have someone to consult with directly. Haha. I had made a post but I understand that other issues are more important.

Here's what my stats look like regularly:

Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia & pH

I'll probably do a 20-30% water change tonight with Prime because he should be here tomorrow. Is that right?
:'D

Actually, that was my high Ammonia. I'm sorry. It's usually .25ppm.

Yes, do a water change. Your ammonia is .50ppm.. Right? And you pH is around 7.0, perfect. :D Try to keep the ammonia below .25 because any traces can harm him. You want the cycle going on too, but his life is more important. Is he your avatar pic?

It's right now right between the two. A bit too dark to be .25, but still a little too light to be .50. I'll probably do a water change anyways.

And yus! That's him.
:D
