Question Can I feed this to my Betta?...

I have a Half Moon/super Delta betta named Tin Tin. Had him for almost 9months now, and I was wondering what live foods I can give him

I especially want to know if he can eat tadpoles. We have a "pond" that is filled with frog and newt eggs. Some have hatched and they're still very tiny so I know he'd love to gulp one down.

I almost got one to give to him, but I want to know if it's safe first.

If not, are there any other easy-to-find bugs n such that I can give to him? I would really like to get him something live that he can actually "kill" haha!

(There are no good pet supply stores near where I live, so I can't go buy any...)

Sorry for making it so long to read, would appreciate answers though! Thank you!!!

When our pond was still full, I used to get live bloodworms (moquito lavae) from it. As long as your pond is safe from chemicals, fetilisers etc, I personally don't have a problem with it, though you do risk introducing disease by feeding a sick tadpole to your fish.

I was going to give him bloodworms, but the frogs gobble them up!

Thank you for the advice!

If you keep a close eye on them, you can grow your own mosquito larvae in a bucket full of pond water and let your betta go to town with those :) Just make sure none make it past the pupae stage so you dont contribute to the mosquito population lol. In summer weather, larval stage is around 7 days, and pupa is like 2-3 days. I imagine it to be longer during the colder season.
