20 gallon tall Betta + ?

I am upgrading my 10 gallon (moderately planted with gravel) to a 20 tall that I just picked up. Everything is being transfered except the gravel. It has an aqueon quiet flow 30 (baffled with some aquaclear 30 foam) and 3 pygmy corydora and 3 hasbrosus corys (sorry I don't know the technical name of them) ... The betta is a red/blue crowntail named Bill. I'd like to add something else to the new 20 gallon to fill up a little space. I'm looking at maybe some rasboras or neons but I'm not sure what to get. I don't mind getting 3 slightly larger fish like 3 male mollys or platys and calling it a day. Just want something colorful.

What would you guys suggest?

So imagine that in a 20 tall (24*12*18) with pool filter sand instead of gravel..

i think some tetras would be a nice addition to the tank... you could also have a sorority in the 10 or 20 if you wanted.. also red cherry shrimp might be cool but i don't know if they are compatible with cories

I'd add 3 more cories to each group and do 8 of some small type of tetras, either neons or embers.

THe RCS would be fine with the cories, just probably not with the bettas. I'd also go with adding another couple of cories to each group just to make them larger schools, unless they already school together. IME pygmys and habrosus's usually will school together since they look so similar.
Tetras sound like a good idea, but be weary that neons tend to be fin nippers.
If it were me, id go with something not so bright considering males ban be pretty aggressive towards colorful fish, but if you trust yours not to, i would get male guppies or some rasboras or a different variety of tetras instead.

Yeah I am really wanting some hengeli rasbora. I was thinking of stocking them in my 46 that I'm going to stock soon but I might put them in this tank ..

Thanks. It needs more plants but all funds were spent on the fish. Next weekend maybe. Thanks for the boost about the rasboras. I love them. I like the Hengeli vs the esepi .. those are a little more bland in my opinion
