Hello from NC!

Hi, I am new to the forum but I have been lurking. I have decided to get into bettas as I am running out of room for tanks! I can always find room for a 10 gallon tank! Mostly I keep puffer fish, but I also have Oscars, a green Texas and various other small fish.

Anyways, I have looked for a good betta for a few months and I finally found one that wasn't half dead and I thought he was pretty.

I think he is a half moon, but I am not sure. Also I am unsure about what color he would be called. Perhaps a cellophane?

Anyways here is my new betta. He is in a 10 gallon with no tank mates. The tank is still in progress :)

FTS, see if you can find the betta in this pic! (Check the plants)

Nice to meet everyone!

Blurry or not, you can still see fin and RED! BTW, I have that exact same multi color decor piece around here somewhere.

I don't know if I can get him to flare, but I think if he does he would have more than a 180 spread. His fins are so heavy, I had to use decor, a baffle and get a new filter with adjustable flow so that he could swim around. Hopefully he will muscle up in a few weeks.

Welcome to the forum. Great looking Betta. I started out with a cellophane and now he is marbling to black/dark blue with blue fins. What part of NC are you in? I live outside of Charlotte. Hello from us

That's pretty cool, didn't know he could possibly change colors. In the pictures mine seems to have blue streaks, but they are more aqua greenish blue.

We live near greensboro/triad area. Very hard to find nice bettas :(

hahaa yah your betta is quite nice though mine is a common boring veiltail :c i may have to baffle my new penguin 100 filter in my cycling 10gal because even without any fishies in it, i can tell the current is strong

Cool, you are not too far from here, only a few hours. I didn't know they could change either until it happened and I asked about it here. That's when I learned about marbling. I found mine at my local petsmart, they seem to have a good selection at times and I have to stop myself from bringing another one home. I enjoy sleeping in my bed and not the couch

Here is a picture of my betta on January 1, just a few days after we got him. He has grown and changed so much in just over a month.
