I'm currently in the middle of acclimating my new betta-friend from AquaBid. It looks like the stress from the long trip made him nip at his tail fin. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or tips on how to promote the regrowth of his tail, aside from pristine water that is.
Tannins! If you have some IAL or oak leaves, they will help tremendously. Tea bags work also ... just get the highest quality, preferably organic, that you can. Rooibos tea is supposed to be great, although I haven't used it. Some people swear by decaf green also ... I use Lipton black tea, lol.
Be careful with brewing and dumping ... dumping brewed tea in the tank will make the ph plummet sharply. Dose small amounts, or just let the teabag float in the tank.

oh, ok I was thinking of including it (about 10cc?? is it enough or 12oz) with the new water at WC time.
if i can float the bag, sure, easier for me.
