Popcorndeer - I also don't see a reply to Laki's questions. Please answer those, too. We're trying to help you, but we can only help if you give us information.

Here are the questions we have asked you:

What is the water temperature?

Does the tank have a filter? If so, what type?

Is he by himself in the tank? Or are there other fish?

Can you post a picture of his tail?

Can you post a picture of the tank, including all plants and decorations?

75 is way to cold, especially for a injured/sick fish. Try to get it to at least 82 degrees.

I think Matt wanted to say "try to get it at least two degrees higher".

One of my males nipped his tail. Not sure why. I caught him doing it once, too. Then another male of mine ripped it on a piece of decoration, but it's healing with warm water.

All you really need is warm water and time to let it grow. You don't need AQ salt unless there is an external infection or disease (like fin rot).

I really wish you wouldn't say that no one cares. We all care, popcorn. (:

Did you say he is in a 20 gallon tank by himself without heater and filter? I think you might have a water quality issue too. Not only is the water too cold but it might be too dirty, how often and hoe much do you clean at a time?

The larger the body of water, the colder it feels. Think of it like putting your hand in a bowl of water and then sitting in a bathtub, both the same temp. The sensation of the water is totally different isn't it.

Either way, please fill out the sticky posted by MattsBettas so we can better assess the type of tank your fish is in.
