Shy Betta (Discuss)

I have had my Betta a little over a month now, he is very active and gets excited when we enter the room, he also loves my camera, whenever the camera is out he swims in a pattern around his plant and through his house, kind of showing off his home, anytime we go close to the tank or try to interact with him he shy's away instantly and hides, is this normal?

They all have their own personalities, he's probably ok from afar just not comfortable with up close interaction. Maybe in time he'll get used to y'all and overcome his shyness :)

Bettas are smart lil fish. Try more interaction at feeding time. I've trained my Betta to come to the same place for feedings each time. He will respond to me snapping above the water and tapping at the side of his tank lightly. I spend five minutes feeding him 3 pellets. During this time we do lots of finger following interaction and snap training =)

My betta is shy too. He knows when his tank light comes on its feeding time but any other time I look into his tank he freezes for a second then swims into his plants
