New fish, Talon, and member :)

Hi there everyone!
The itch to have a fish came over me a few days ago while cleaning out closets for spring cleaning and stumbling over an empty 10G tank I had forgotten about. Last night we went into Petco and came out with this guy who we have dubbed 'Talon'.

He was unsure of all this new space last night and explored cautiously after being acclimated.




This morning, he seems to be settling in quite well and even coloring up some more already. He also seems to be able to see his reflection on the sides of the tank, so getting pictures of him flared is quite easy. :D






Rest assured he's going to be one magnificently spoiled little fish with this 10G all to himself and all the brine shrimp, blood worms and pellets he could ever want. :)

He's definitely a keeper!

Our petco seems to have quite the selection of bettas. Their labels literally read from baby bettas and females to halfmoon kings and elephant ears. We pretty much had our pick of whatever we could possibly have wanted.

This guy though pretty much said "I'm awesome. You should take me."
So we did.

Thank you all for the kind words! As the following picture demonstrates, Talon is a very happy fish and all settled in now. I'll probably post more pics of him in a month or so to see if there's any coloring up going on. :)
