Colorado Betta Keeper

Hello from Colorado! My name is Jessica, and I am a relatively new Betta owner. I say relatively because I did own Bettas when I was young. I have one Betta currently and am in the process of getting a second Betta (male tri-color Crowntail) and one of his female spawn mates shipped from Thailand. Luckily, one of the main trans-shippers is local for me, and is willing to let me pick them up in person rather than shipping them. I have plans to start a Sorority later this year, after I get my newbies settled and happy.

I currently have one dark blue Crowntail male that I rescued from the local Petsmart, with the two from Thailand on their way.

I am hoping to find more people in Colorado interested in Bettas but I’m willing to talk to anyone. I also noticed there’s no local IBC chapter.

Colorado is a nice place, i got stranded there one day and saw prairie dogs on the roads, lol, pretty interesting to see.

It is Linda. She's charging 2 dollars per betta to cover the import fees.

Welcome to forums! What do you think of your hometown in Colorado or the state as a whole? Lots of places to see? things to do? it is one of the places I am considering moving to.

No problem at all! I like it here in Lakewood, which is a Denver Subarab, but I love the area around my work! I work in Blackhawk, which is about 45 minutes into the Mountains from Denver. It's wonderful up here! Cool in the summer, and still mild enough in the winter that we can get to work daily. There are a lot of things to do in Colorado, especially for outdoorsy people (which I'm not lol). Trips to Estes Park make up my childhood, and I still remember them fondly! We moved here when I was six, and the rest of the family slowly followed from Pennsylvania to escape the humidity. Well worth it!
