Confused! (Help!)

So if you haven't heard about my new Veil tail Opay he's blue and red. He has some greyish-white coloring on his head that's clumped and starting to look like ick. I can try to get pictures, I don't know if its getting bigger it seems as it is (or maybe I'm just worried about my buddy!) If it is ick what do I do?

Doesn't sound like Ich. Ich looks like a fish has been sprinkled with sugar. See pic as an example, does it look this?

Ich looks like goal-ish sprinkles all over the fish. I doubt it's ich. A picture would be very helpful, though. Along with this info:

80 is a good temp. Don't go over 84.
Try to get pictures, they'll be able to help you better.

Well, first you need to put in a 50% water change sometime during the week between your 100% cleanings. I'll wait for the pic and see if I can't get callistra to suggest something. She typically knows more about medicating fish than most.

Have you got any better pictures of his head? It's kind of hard to tell whether that is a scrape or some kind of fungal infection or something bacterial like columnaris.

Hmm it does look like it could be the start of some kind of infection. I would definitely wait and see what someone like Callistra or Sakura8 (I think she is also pretty experienced with disease and treatment in fish) says before starting to medicate him.

I really only have success with treating ich and velvet but hopefully it isn't something serious for your sake.
