Building a Divider

I've been debating on dividing the 5.5 gallon.
So I'd love some tips and how-tos on making your own tank divider(cheap).

Thanks!

I got some craft mesh, cut it to size, and stuck it between two triangular binder spines. It worked really well til my girl decided to jump it, an hour after I'd inserted it. :p I need to make it a bit bigger next time, I think.

I already had the craft mesh, and the binders cost me $6.20 AUD for a pack of 5.

Have you seen Aida cloth that people do cross-stitch on? It looks like that, but plastic rather than cloth.

you can get the mesh at a craft/sewing store. they call it "plastic canvas" used for cross stitching

Many of us like to use two dividers with the filter and heater between them.

There are many advantages to a double divider:
---hard to see through
---hard to jump or breech
---equal flow of filtered and heated water
---keeps the current down
---hides the plumbing

Well, I understand the effects of the double dividers. I think my 5.5 is a bit limited in space for a double divider. My hood also limits where my filter goes. So I don't think double dividers will work very well.
