Wish me luck introducing Leo to a planted aquarium!

I am so nervous about moving my betta to another aquarium. He was totally happy in his 2 gallon jug, but I worried about temperature and the jug didn't allow for much when it came to plants and decoration.

I bought an Aqueon evolve 4 gallon aquarium kit. I've followed all of the Aqueon directions and have the tank ready. I've got Leo floating in his cup and am adding a tablespoon of water every 15 minutes for the next hour, then plan on putting him in his new home.

If I kill him, I will be so upset! I've only had him a few days, but he has more spunk and personality than I ever thought a fish could have. And he seems totally in love with me. He actually lets me pet him! Like I said, he's fearless. He doesn't even flinch when I put my finger in the water, but immediately swims to me. He follows my hand, whatever I am doing in his tank, curious about what I am doing. I think he's a good candidate for training. I hope that doesn't harm him for me to pet him.

Anyway, I'll post pictures. Oh, and let me know if I should be aware of something before I put him in his new home.

He's in the tank now. He is swimming all over the tank, skimming the bubbles on the sides. When he sees me, he acts like he is frantically trying to get through the glass to get to me. He's let me pet him several times.

Do they play with the bubbles on the sides of the tank? He wouldn't be trying to get air, would he? I know that sounds crazy. I just hope he's doing ok.

Don't worry, he knows which way is up and will go to the surface for air. That's the hungry-dance he's doing. :p

I didn't feed him today. I've had him less than a week and picked today to skip a day of food. Aren't I supposed to do that? And I thought maybe with the stress of the tank change, it would be best for him not to eat. What do you think? I will be more than happy to feed him.

I always skip a day each week on feedings. It's supposed to help them not become constipated. He will be fine without eating for one day. I bet he loves all the new room! I hope you find time to post pictures. I love his name.

It seems to be a success! Leo is alive and happy.

I've attached a couple of pictures. The water is still a little cloudy. That may be my fault, because I keep rearranging the furniture. Sorry, it's a woman thing.

One picture is a closeup of Leo. Is he a butterfly or a delta? And what color do I call him. I've asked this in a couple of other threads, but I'm still a little confused.
