white stuff growing in betta log

As the title says there is white stiff growing in my betta log. Little balls of white stuff. With is it?!?! Do I kill it with fire???

Almost kind of looks like old food. Pellets get kind of moldy when not removed. I would suggest soaking the log in boiling water and then scrubbing it a bit. No soap or bleach.

Ok thanks. I soaked it in boiling water with aquarium salt and made a scrub out of the salt. all gone now. i don;t know how food could have gotten in there. never ever does a piece of food go uneaten with my bettas and he doesn't eat anywhere near his log. weird.

Hmm maybe in a feeding frenzy, a couple pieces were knocked around and drifted in. Very strange!
