Here Comes the Boom!!

Well since I lost poor little chandler http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=131592

And I had an empty tank that needed a new occupant in need, I headed over to petsmart intending to get a new net and *look* at the new shipment of bettas. I was actually very pleased, the cups were clean, the fish were active and healthy (we'll see how long it lasts). But tucked way in the back of the bettas (yes I go through and look at every single one) was a very sad looking little copper and red *halfmoon* (he looks like a delta at best, but his fins are so sticky and clammped it's impossible to tell) who is covered in what appears to be some sort of fungus. I do not believe it is colmunaris but I will be extremely careful none the less to make sure nothing that comes in contact with him goes anywhere near anyone else.

I almost didn't take him with me, He looked so far gone, and with the fungus I didn't know if it was worth the risk... but he just kept staring at me and wiggling and dancing as best he could... He's obviously a fighter, so I had to give him a chance!! And because he is such a fighter I named him after the newish Kevin James movie Here Comes the Boom!

So everyone please welcome Boomer!

And a quick video

You're such a great person to rescue him! I'm sure he's going to be a Gorgeous betta when he gets better! :D Hmm... if you ask me, it looks like he has slime mold disease but I'm not sure.. :O Good Luck with him!

No more love for Boomer?? He's doing AWESOME! eating, blowing bubbles and attempting to flare at lemon in the tank next door! I'm so glad I brought him home! 90% of the fungus/slime on his body is completely gone, he just has a little bit on his head. I just love him!

Congrats! Nice to see this little fishie doing well, especially after the disappointment of Chandler not making it.
