Tubing doesn't fit sponge filter next size up or adaptor?

I 2.7 ml for my sponge filter but it's just a tad too small. I hate to not use it is there an adaptor I can buy or what is the next size up?

If it's neoprene tubnibg---clear and slightly stiff---you can try putting the end in boiling water to make it soft enough to expend over your fitting. Failing that, try a match or burner in your stove.

If it's polyurethane---cloudy, flexible---smear some nose oil on the fitting.

Hallyx is exactly right. You want it tight anyway so it doesn't come loose under pressure.

I tried the hot water no luck and I didn't want to melt the tubing due to the fumes it might cause. I did find airline at Petsmart that fit. I was able to buy just a small amount and I can still use the other tubing. I will conserve the Petsmart tubing as I plan to buy more of these filters (which work great!) since they are only $3.99. Thanks for the suggestions.
