Hi there

I have a double tail dragon (female) yellow colour, from plakat family I was told, and I wonder what tail male I should get for breeding. I have a veil tail dragon, a crown tail and some HM males. Suggestions?

I moved your post and turned it into a thread, hoping it will get more replies.

What male to pair your girl with depends on your goal. Pairing to a CT will give you uneven web reduction for the first few generations. You'd have to breed several generations to get them attractive.

If you want long fins, you could breed her to a VT or even better a HM. . . . to a VT it will take more generations.

Thanks indjo for your prompt reply. I am keen to breed her with the dragon veil tail because I like to get some dragon babies, but just not sure whether I can get them or not, not to mention why sort of tail they are going to produce. Any further comments on this?

VT x PK will most probably give you mostly VT because long fins are dominant over short. You will also have in between - too short to be VT but too long to be PK. Then you will also have PK. The actual percentage is dificult to determine because we don't know which genetics actually survived . . . a fully grown female may lay more than 1300 eggs. But only an average of 200-300 will survive to adult. Usually first time breeders such as yourself will only end up with 20-50 fry . . which IMO is a good manageable number.
