We just got rid of our danios because they would ram into our other fish constantly, and everyone was getting pretty frazzled by it.

A cycle usually takes 4-6 wks, but CAN be longer.

My danios were really little when we started the sorority. Well they are kinda big now and ram the betta when each are going for food. They have become a bit of a pain in the tank just like yours. It may be time for them to get their own place. A good way to seed kickstart a tank is with a sponge filter thats been seasoned in a cycled tank for a couple weeks, this has worked well for me.

My danios go in with my betta. I got 2 zebra and 2 gold, but I gave my gold danios away. however, the danios nipped at each other AND King Dedede. Now King Dedede's tail is almost all gone. I don't recommend zebra or gold Danios with a betta.

Liffe Leaf, danios are more likely to nip if they aren't in a proper school - at least 6.
