My First Imports!!!!!!

My first imports arrived safe and sound on Thursday, I cannot explain how overwhelmed with happiness I was to unwrap them and find them safe and healthy.

The male who I named Spartan is every bit as beautiful as he looked in his video and Pearl the female looks 100% more beautiful than she did in the video. I actually thought she was the male when I first unwrapped her! Anyway she is the first member of my new sorority and Spartan is now in the barrack tank with my other males.

Thought you might like to see some photos of my new babies

Congratulations! May you have years and hours of mutually satisfying companionship. They appear to have taken the trip in "stride." What is that remarkable color combination called?

Thankyou! Actually I am not sure whi bred them because the transshipper imported them and then I saw them for sale and bought them from her!

Oh they were advertised as red dragon halfmoon plakats. Poor Spartan ripped his anal fin flaring too much at his neighbours and Pearl has been acting a bit weird clamping and unclamping her fins and hanging by the surface or laying on the bottom. I was worried about ammonia spike so have been doing 100% daily water changes. Hope she picks up soon as she was perfectly happy when I got her.

I had them in a divided tank and as you can see from the photos they started 'dancing' with eachother the minute I released them from the bags. Spartan has since been moved to the main barracks tank and Pearl has her own 3 gallon. Once I get the sorority tank set up she will be moved to there, I really hope she picks up soon, she has had me so worried!

Beautiful! Love the colors..

I've had a few imported and it gets addictive :)

It's so much fun opening the box and there they are!

Does your girl have a lot of hiding places? Sometimes they take a few days to settle in, start eating etc. Others don't seem to even notice they've been in a box and start being very social and eating a lot right away. I had one once who would run and hide under the plant whenever I'd walk by and he didn't eat for like 3 or 4 days. He ended up being just fine, but I was so worried at the time!

Enjoy your new boy and girl!
